Good weekday news brightens Sunday Blues!

Two non-major Final tables were the best that the Allies could muster on an unusually quiet night. Hammyhole had his deep run in the Party 109 20k, which on a Sunday is definitely worth winning, with $9k up top. With 10 players left and the final table about to pop up he got it in with AK v 44 for the chip lead and flopped the King he needed, but the runner runner diamonds meant that his opponents flush beat his trip Kings and he went to the final table 5/10. The final table began quite slowly, with the action being quite limited, but as the blinds increased, it became a lot shallower and the action started to increase. Several ladders came along for Hammy but the cards he needed did not and after blinding down to around 11bb’s, finally got 88 utg+1 and shoved, unfortunately getting called by a bigger stacks KK and got no help, finishing 6th for $1.6k.
Merge was the other Ally to make a final table, reaching the final 6 of the 109 s/h on 848 for possibly the 4th or 5th time. In his previous visits, Merge had not had the best of fortunes, but this time he made his way to HU with relative ease, biding his time 3 handed and getting his money in good to double up, eventually going in to 2 handed mode with a 2-1 chip deficit. With only 3 hands of heads up play in the books, Merge got dealt QQ in the bb, his opponent limped @ 1200/2400 and Merge made it 9.5k, his opponent making the call. The flop came 4 4 6, Merge leading out for a half pot sized bet, his opponent again making the call, the turn brought a 7, with the same action as the flop and the river bringing a non-descript J and Merge shoving his chips in, only to find that his opponent had limp called pre flop with 74o and had turned a boat and it was a 2nd place finish and $1350.
Elsewhere the pickings were pretty slim for the Allies with only a few other deepish runs for Puggy and Fett in Micro and then Puggy again in the iPoker major, with DcHustler also going deepish in the Champion Chip, but sadly none could break the 30th place barrier.
During the rest of the week, the story was very different for the Allies with a plethora of wins across the board, being led by a fantastic High Roller performance from 2 of our players. Puggy82 and Benwa1, got through a tricky final table and several up and down moments to eventually get HU with each other and decide to chop, bringing them each a whopping $15k, what a great achievement! I must quickly add that leading up to the final table, Puggy82 got it in for his tournament life with 77 preflop vs KK, the flop came K 7 x,the turn was a blank only to see the miraculous and very ‘lucky’ 7 fall on the river…..who needs luck though?!
Elsewhere this week, Fett took down the Ongame s/h turbo for nearly 4k, Beej took down a double of $50 freeze outs with wins in the 848 5k and the Canadian 5k, totalling 3.3k and Sufur added his name to the ever growing list of Allies to ship the 848 6k, taking home 2.1k and confirming that the tournament can now be called the Poker-Allies 109……… this name is open to change if any one Ally can push on and gain multiple wins!
