A night that at one point had a lot of promise for several of the Allies, unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations as each fell at the final hurdle. The only Ally to make an FT was the in-form Olly ‘Merge37’ Breese, as he final tabled both the Microgaming major and the Ongame 18k, but unlike the last few weeks, he was unable to turn Final Tables in to wins as he grabbed a pair of 9th place finishes.
It was nearly a great comeback for chazmanchaz, as he went deep in several big tournaments, unfortunately he couldn’t find a Final Table, but the signs are ominous as the following results confirm: 10th in early $55 turbo on Stars, 11th in 100 cubed turbo on Stars, 50th in the Party major, 16th in the Ongame 100c and 40th in the Stars $55 f/o.
The Visionary continued his good Sunday form as he again went deep in the Party major. After winning the Party Million, not once but twice, when the Visionary goes deep in a big Party tournament, it almost has a feeling of inevitability about it, however this was to be a turn up for the books as he fell in 18th place, losing several big hands, the last of which was AK v TT, to go 2/20.
Puggy82, fresh from his win in the iPoker major last week, again had a couple of deep runs and there were whispers of a possible back-to-back title when he eased in to the money again in the iPoker major, but this week his luck definitely wasn’t in as he ground to a halt in 51st place, adding to his 48th place in the Microgaming major.
The last Ally to finish was Hammyhole as his deep run came in the 848 major, which after Merge finishing 6th in it last week, had a reputation for running long in to the night. He won a couple of key hands with around 90 left, to move himself in to the top 20 and then started to attack his table opening a lot of pots. He then lost a big 3b pot with AJ v QJ, which they got in on a 9 T 3 flop, only to see the K river and cost him a lot of chips. He was able to get back up to where he was but then got all his chips in v a known Fish with 77 against QQ, and unfortunately his dream was ended in 14th place.
All in all, a really good show from the Allies, unfortunately no one could repeat Puggy’s feat from last week but the signs are again there that the Allies mean business and it should only be a matter of time before we add to the Allies’ Major list!Good luck in the week to come guys.
