Up and running……..in the wrong direction.
-
I’ve had a mixed few days. I managed to exceed 4k of volume for the first time ever on Monday. Great turnover but not so good if you are getting less than 1k of that money back. Despite being used to losing days it still gets to me. It’s illogical because it comes with the territory, but I still hate losing money. Hopefully things will improve. Depressing as my start has been, this has been somewhat compensated by a big score for one of the people myself and Neil are backing. I actually learnt of this success while relaxing on the beach. How clichéd!
On the plus side I’ve been running on the beach every morning. It’s so much easier to do when you’re in such a nice environment. I also love finishing in the afternoon and having the evenings free. I hated working evenings at home; as you are out of sink with everyone else. When you begin work everyone else is finishing. If you want to see any friends you have to take a day off. New Zealand has eradicated that problem because a) I start early and finish early and b) I don’t have any friends. Lets hope I can start finishing at 3pm not 1pm, and get out more.
We have also met our landlord. They went out of their way to get to know us and make sure we had everything and were very friendly. He has sold his financial advisory firm, which has since gone bust, and is now just driving his Ferrari around .His wife is also very friendly and very much his junior. They have said we can use holiday house up north which we will definitely be doing. When applying for the house I told them in an email that Puggy and Dominique were a couple, because they were worried about it being a party house. So the two of them were asked to perform as a couple, not too difficult you’d think. Half an hour later following a particularly wooden performance from Puggy they are left confused “so, who are the couple?” Puggy, you need to sharpen up on the acting skills before we begin filming the documentary.
One more thing. There is also one unforeseen obstacle in addition to wading through hoards of fish to online glory in our new household: Neil’s running commentary and analysis. I don’t care about your metagames with Moorman and what Pearljammer had for breakfast. I myself have fruit and cereal brought to my desk by Dominique. This is +ev.
